SEASONAL GROUNDS STAFF

May through August (University)

REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendents and Superintendent

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for performing routine manual labor involved in golf course maintenance; operate machinery involved in the mowing of turf and operates small hand-powered equipment. Also, occasionally perform work involving specialized equipment. Seasonal positions are full-time from mid-April through the end of August and may work weekends through September.

JOB TASKS (DUTIES): 1. Mow greens, tees, fairways, collars, surrounds and rough as needed. 2. Set tee markers and change cups on greens when necessary. 3. Assist in grounds landscape construction 4. Operate hand mowers and string trimmers. 5. Maintain sand bunkers as necessary. 6. Maintain cart paths as necessary. 7. Perform any other duties as directed by the Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent.

QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Requires general knowledge of and ability to use small power equipment. 2. Ability to follow verbal and written directions. 3. Ability to work in a team environment 4. Physically capable of walking, standing, or sitting for extended periods. This position pays $18.25 per hour and averages 37 - 41 hours per week.
