The Commercial Pilot program provides comprehensive ground theory and other employable skills while working closely with industry to provide flight training towards the designation of a Commercial Pilot License.

Job Duties/Qualifications, Skills and Abilities(QSA)
Provide ground instruction to students enrolled in the Commercial Pilot program.
Design and implement a student-centered learning environment using an outcome-based approach in either a face-to-face or online delivery mode.
Prepare and deliver lessons, assignments, lectures and demonstrations using principles of adult learning.
Develop new curriculum, training aids, and materials as needed.
Use digital tools proficiently, including general office applications.
Be flexible and responsive to learner needs using varied instructional methods.
Plan and deliver content and learning activities that reflect the values, beliefs, needs, and contributions of a culturally diverse community.
Provide appropriate evaluation, assessment, and feedback to students.
Be responsive to accommodation of special learning needs, including equity groups and diverse learners.
Where required, develop working relationships with appropriate external partners and employers, supporting students in working experience.
Pursue professional development opportunities to keep current with employer and educational requirements.
Mentor students related to educational opportunities, industry expectations, and career goals.
Work co-operatively in an interdependent team environment.
Attend program and school meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE

Duties
Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)
Grade 12 or equivalent.
Minimum current Class 3 instructor rating as issued by Transport Canada or a minimum of 600 hours of post qualification flight experience and a Commercial Pilot License.
Effective instructional ability.
Effective interpersonal skills.
Effective communication skills.
Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of the internet, email, MS Office Suite software and the ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.
Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment.
