Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining optimal growing conditions within a greenhouse by monitoring and adjusting environmental factors like temperature, humidity, and light levels, performing plant care tasks like watering, pruning, and pest control, and ensuring proper functioning of greenhouse equipment, all while recording data to track plant health and growth progress.

Responsibilities

Environmental control: Monitoring and adjusting greenhouse climate parameters such as temperature, humidity, and CO2 levels using automated systems. o Plant care: Watering, fertilizing, transplanting, pruning, and propagating plants according to specific crop needs. o Pest management: Identifying and controlling pests and diseases through integrated pest management practices. o Irrigation system maintenance: Checking and adjusting irrigation systems, including monitoring water quality and adjusting delivery rates. o Data collection and analysis: Recording plant growth data such as height, yield, and quality, analyzing trends to identify areas for improvement. o Seed propagation: Preparing soil mixes, planting seeds, and managing seedling propagation trays. o Quality control: Inspecting plants for potential issues like disease, pests, nutrient deficiencies, and taking corrective actions. o Soil testing

Qualifications

Strong understanding of plant biology and horticulture practices. o Knowledge of greenhouse environment controls and automation systems. o Ability to identify and manage plant pests and diseases. o Data recording and analysis skills. o Mechanical aptitude for equipment troubleshooting. o Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks in a greenhouse environment. o Valid drivers license
