We are Atlantic Canada\xe2\x80\x99s largest independent greenhouse and we specialize in growing herbs, vegetables, perennials, trees with a strong focus on ornamental annual bedding plants. Full time positions are available from March 22 - approx July 1. Specific Tasks
Contract length: 3.5 months
Part-time hours: 40 per week Salary: From $16.00 per hour Benefits:
- Preparing containers for plant production
- Operating machinery and equipment - automated pot filler
- Unloading, pricing and displaying retail items and greenhouse merchandise
- Moving plants amongst greenhouses and assisting customers with loading large trees and plants
- Maintaining a clean work environment
- Assisting customers loading vehicles with plants
- Must be able to accommodate a flexible schedule as shift hours include mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Physical stamina is required as duties involve a fast paced environment, standing and walking for long hours, repetitive moving/lifting trays of plants, bending, crouching and kneeling, while working in warm temperatures.
- Hardworking with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Working area can be inside or outside in all weather conditions
- Experience is not required but is an asset
- This role requires each employee to be flexible and adaptable as we have multiple areas of work in the greenhouse department. These areas include various tasks and you may move through the different areas/roles throughout your shift
