Location: 168 East Pender Street, Vancouver BC

Scope of Position:
The Graphic Designer will be an integral part of the marketing team and work to deliver branded digital
graphics across a number of channels including social media & e-communications, templates, signage,
and custom-designed marketing collaterals to support initiatives of the Vancouver Chinatown
Foundation.

Primary Responsibilities:
This position requires proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, competency in MS Office suite, and
familiarity with email marketing and social media platforms. You would report directly to the Marketing
Communications Manager, and work in close collaboration with the marketing coordinators, external
advisors, and consultants

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
Completion of post-secondary certification in graphic design
Related graphic design experience
Strong competency in Adobe Creative Suite applications specifically InDesign, Photoshop and
Illustrator
Demonstrated experience in creating strong visual communications both in print and
digital/online applications with a keen eye for design and attention to detail
Strong photography and photo editing skills
Experience using email marketing platforms and working knowledge of HTML would be
considered an asset
Experience using social media channels including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and
Twitter; experience with planning tools such as Later would be considered an asset
Superior project management skills and demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects
and adhering to deadlines
Staying up to date with best practices in visual design
Experience working in a community or non-profit organization would be considered an asset
Ability to accept feedback and direction, and work effectively under pressure
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Thrives in a fast paced, dynamic environment

Background:
The Vancouver Chinatown Foundation is a registered charity founded in 2011 to honour a culture and
community established in Vancouver over 100 years ago and is dedicated to building a more resilient and
inclusive community by promoting the wellbeing of those in need while preserving Chinatown\xe2\x80\x99s
irreplaceable cultural heritage. We have a vision of a prosperous, vibrant, and inclusive Chinatown,
where people come to live, work, and play. The Vancouver Chinatown Foundation\xe2\x80\x99s efforts to revitalize
this important neighbourhood are grounded on three interconnected pillars: physical, commercial &
cultural revitalization.

Working at the Vancouver Chinatown Foundation is about joining a dynamic passionate team focused on
creativity and innovation to revitalize Chinatown in the city of Vancouver.
This is an in-office position with office hours of 9:00 to 5:00, Monday to Friday. Some flexibility in
scheduling to support evening and weekend work may be required and will be discussed in advance.
