Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and creative Packaging Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative packaging solutions for our products, ensuring compliance with Canadian packaging standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio showcasing their design skills, a keen understanding of packaging requirements in the Canadian market, and a knowledge of printing materials and processes. Responsibilities:
Contract length: 12 months Salary: From $19.00 per hour Benefits:
- Collaborate with product managers, marketing, and other team members to understand project objectives and translate them into creative and effective packaging designs.
- Research and stay up-to-date on Canadian packaging standards, guidelines, and trends to ensure compliance and market competitiveness.
- Develop and present packaging concepts, sketches, and prototypes to internal stakeholders for review and approval.
- Utilise design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) to create high-quality, visually appealing packaging designs that meet project requirements and brand guidelines.
- Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturers, and other external partners to ensure the successful production of packaging designs.
- Review and approve final packaging samples, ensuring they meet design specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, effectively prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Continuously seek opportunities for improvement in packaging design processes and contribute to the overall growth and success of the company.
- Bachelor\'s degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Packaging Design, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in packaging design, preferably within the beauty or cosmetics industry.
- Solid understanding of printing materials, processes, and techniques, with the ability to apply this knowledge to the development of packaging designs.
- A strong portfolio showcasing a variety of packaging design projects.
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Familiarity with Canadian packaging standards, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Exceptional visual, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for design aesthetics, typography, and colour.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
