MacEwan University is seeking a skilled Graphic Designer for a full-time continuing opportunity with our Office of Communications and Marketing. Reporting to the Design Team Lead, you will be responsible for designing and producing print, digital marketing, and communications materials for the University. You will also help create animations, motion graphics, and illustrations to support a range of projects, contribute to project discussions, ensure all design work is completed within project requirements, and maintain university brand compliance.


Key responsibilities include:

Designing material for digital and print mediums; Creating design solutions for marketing and communications issues; Designing and creating the layout of advertising and marketing materials, including proofreading of included copy to ensure consistency of messaging; Developing a clear understanding of clients' business needs and evaluating the content of the requests; Coordinating or assisting with photoshoots; Assisting with the maintenance of the photo/graphics repository; and Participating in visual and conceptual brainstorming by the marketing team on a casual, non-structured basis.

SKILLS




You will have:

Fluency in macOS, Adobe Creative Cloud and font management; Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint; Knowledge of current software program changes and updates; The ability to prioritize workload, work independently, establish realistic timelines, and adapt to a changing environment; The ability to interact professionally with stakeholders and team members; Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; and The ability to work in a busy team environment and participate in discussions, problem-solving, consensus-building, and decision-making as a communications and marketing team member.

QUALIFICATIONS



A minimum of a design diploma. A minimum of 2 years of experience in graphic design communications solutions. Experience with project management software (e.g. Basecamp, Asana, Wrike, etc). Experience in layout, design, file preparation, and formatting. Experience with web, UX/digital platform design, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Animate, motion graphics and/or animations is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
