The preferred candidate is a professional who will be focused on developing and executing corporate visual communications materials within a variety of media. This Part-time role is responsible for proofing materials for brand, design balance, overall look, and communication objective fulfillment. Additionally, the Graphic Designer prepares all artwork to a high standard of quality within the visual guidelines in the appropriate software and ensure all files, digital and print, are executed properly for suppliers and partners What will you do:

  • Guide initial design concepts and ideas from the initial project phase through to successful completion of a project; including development / execution of all conceptual designs, branding, design details and sourcing of materials
  • Create assets for digital communications
  • Manage multiple internal business units & projects simultaneously to meet tight deadlines under minimal supervision in a team environment
  • Exercise the use of excellent grammar, both verbal and written
  • Utilize various social media channels
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients
What you will bring:
  • Post Secondary education from a recognized graphic design program (degree or diploma)
  • Minimum five years experience in the graphic design/digital industry in a non-profit, agency or corporate environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, all Microsoft office applications
  • Five years experience of pre-press and production for four colour process printing and digital printing, large format printing and knowledge of print substrates
  • Five years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in creating for digital properties including video, social media and website
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organization skills
Working Conditions:
  • This position requires a long period of time at the computer
  • Sitting for long periods of time
The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo is an outdoor facility and all staff working at the zoo must be comfortable working in a large variety of outdoor conditions. The zoo follows the advice of Environment Canada when responding to temperature and air quality issues. The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo is a no smoking environment including vaping. What We Offer:
