Native Northwest is looking for a graphic designer and product development technician to design consumer products, packaging, and product tags, as well as prepare for production. Our products range from home and kitchenware, and drinkware to fashion and children?s learning tools.   • Working alongside our Product Development and Design Lead to develop new products and packaging, especially t-shirts, fashion and print.
  • Artwork tracing and vectorizing original Indigenous artwork to be applied to products
  • Preparing press-ready designs and liasing with manufacturers for production
  • Taking and editing product photos using Photoshop (cropping and colour-editing)
  • Reformatting existing artwork for offset printing and screen printing using Illustrator (eg. postcards, folding cards, t-shirts, stickers)
  • Working on customer customizations for special orders
  • Researching and creating new product concepts and liaising with various suppliers from start to finish of the product life cycle.
  • Maintaining high levels or organization and file management, professionalism, and internal communications with our team
Skills and Experience Required:
  • Proven technical design skills, including typography, vectorizing, and photo editing.
  • Knowledge and experience in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat Pro
  • Experience working with designing and developing consumer products in both wholesale and retail is a plus
  • Professional experience designing for both print and digital with a well-developed understanding of the technical differences between the two
  • Understanding of consumer market trends
  • Understanding of product development, supplier relations and customizations a plus
  • Love and appreciation of Indigenous arts and cultures
  • Efficient, detail-oriented, and highly organized
Job Type: Full-time Salary: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year Benefits:
