Reporting to the Head of Marketing, Partnerships & Events at the ESSC, the Graphic Designer will be responsible for creating engaging visual content that tells the story of our leagues, tournaments, and events. From designing marketing materials and mass emails, to capturing moments behind the camera and supporting the development of our website, this role is central to how players experience our brand both online and in the community. The Graphic Designer will collaborate closely with the marketing and leagues teams to deliver consistent, high-quality creative that enhances the ESSC's reputation as the leader in adult recreational sports across Alberta.

The Graphic Designer position is an 18-month contract with an anticipated start date in November 2025.



Key Responsibilities



Creative & Digital Design

Design and develop creative assets for digital, print, and email campaigns, including posters, brochures, clothing, social graphics, email templates, and event branding. Collaborate with marketing and leagues teams to develop creative concepts for campaigns, league offerings, tournaments, and events, as well as GoPlay! youth sports programs. Work with marketing team to design visually engaging mass emails that align with brand standards. Create engaging visuals that highlight player experience, community spirit, and partnerships. Provide quick-turnaround designs to support promotions and urgent communications. Maintain brand consistency across all visual outputs.
Photo & Video Content:

Deliver engaging visual content that can be used across digital platforms, social media, and promotional campaigns. Edit and organize photo/video libraries for easy future use. Work with marketing staff to plan content shoots that align with upcoming promotions. Head out to leagues, tournaments, and events to capture fun, action-filled photos and video clips. Showcase the energy, fun, and community of participants through compelling storytelling.
Website Management:

Support the team by creating and updating webpages for leagues, tournaments, events, and partnerships. Ensure webpages are visually appealing, easy to navigate, and consistent with brand identity. Collaborate with leagues and marketing to keep information accurate and up to date. Upload graphics, photos, and promotional content to enhance user experience.

Key Requirements



Post-secondary degree or diploma in graphic design or a related field. 1-3 years of professional experience in graphic design or a similar creative role. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects, or similar tools). Experience designing for both digital and print, including social media, web, and mass email platforms. Comfort capturing photos and video, with the ability to do simple edits for use in marketing materials Strong creativity, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative approach to teamwork. Passion for sports, recreation, and community engagement is an asset.

Compensation
