Purpose of Job:

  • We are currently seeking a Graphic Design Intern to join our Creative team for a 4-month paid summer internship. This role is available to candidates In the Greater Toronto Area and will be performed in a hybrid model of remote work and a minimum of 1 day a week in our downtown Toronto office at 351 King St East.

What we are looking for:

  • This is a unique opportunity to be part of the team responsible for translating ideas and concepts into brand-propelling content. As a graphic designer on the Creative team, you will develop and execute creative content across all Marketing channels for EQ Bank \\u007C Equitable Bank.
  • You will join a fun and fast-paced in-house creative team that is collaborative and eagerly growing our brands. The ideal applicant must have a keen design sensibility and an acute attention to detail. You will be provided with the opportunity to work on a variety of projects across different media.
  • We are looking for a design-obsessed creative thinker to join our rapidly expanding Marketing team. Reporting into the Director, Creative Services and working within the wider Marketing team, the Middleweight Graphic Designer will be tasked with delivering fantastic integrated projects for the wider business.
  • You should be immersed in a broad range of projects across digital, moving image and print, combining creative skills with technical know-how. You will have a good understanding of translating work across multiple channels. You will be working very closely with copywriters, motion designers, and developers.


Main Activities:

  • Design branded assets including but not limited to advertisements, social posts, brochures, presentations, whitepapers, reports, and website graphics.
  • Own the production of assets across our brands including advertisements and design of content.
  • Work closely with our team to ensure design integrity and brand alignment is consistent across all touchpoints.
  • Work closely with business units to design assets for their campaigns and implement feedback.
  • Work independently with confidence and collaborate as part of a creative team
  • Be a self-motivated, highly-organized and creative individual with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritize
  • Have a good understanding of imagery, composition and design as well as a strong ability to problem solve and collaborate across all areas of design. Create and execute on project deliverables to the highest standard under tight deadlines
  • Have excellent research skills, awareness of current design trends and a willingness to explore different design solutions
  • Be a champion for great creative work and actively seek opportunities to expand out output


Knowledge / Skill Requirements:

  • Must currently be enrolled in a university or college level Design program with a focus on graphic design and/or user experience and user interface design.
  • Education in Digital Graphic Design, UX/UI design or related field
  • Experience in a variety of media across digital and print
  • Experience and comfort in fast-paced and multiple workstream environments.
  • Self-starting, pro-active and take-charge attitude.
  • Online portfolio demonstrating an ability to develop ideas with exceptional design quality for a broad range of design assets.
  • Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, PowerPoint, MS Word, should be core elements of your toolbox.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong relationship building skills and ability to communicate with team members at all levels.
  • A keen eye for detail and precision.
  • Highly organized.
