Overview


We are seeking a

Grant Writer & Fundraising Specialist

to join our team. This role will play a critical part in securing funding opportunities, building donor and partner relationships, and helping AIM Centre for Construction grow its capacity to deliver impactful training and workforce development programs.

The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and skilled at crafting compelling proposals and fundraising strategies tailored to the unique positioning of a not-for-profit (but non-charitable) organization.

Key Responsibilities



Identify applicable government, corporate, and foundation grant opportunities. Prepare, write, and submit grant applications aligned with AIM's mission and objectives. Maintain a grants calendar and ensure timely submission of proposals and reports.

Fundraising & Partnerships



Develop and implement fundraising strategies to diversify revenue streams. Cultivate relationships with corporate sponsors, industry associations, and community partners. Organize fundraising campaigns, sponsorship packages, and donor outreach initiatives.

Strategic Support



Collaborate with leadership to align funding efforts with organizational goals. Track and evaluate funding outcomes, providing reports and recommendations. Assist with marketing and communications materials to support fundraising.

Qualifications



Proven experience in grant writing and fundraising for not-for-profit organizations (experience with workforce development, training, or construction sector is an asset). Strong research, writing, and storytelling skills with the ability to tailor messages to funders and sponsors. Familiarity with Canadian funding landscape, including federal, provincial, and municipal grants. Ability to build relationships with stakeholders, corporate donors, and community partners. Highly organized, deadline-driven, and results-oriented.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 20 per week
