As a Grain Originator, you will complement the high-volume contracts of the Merchandising department by developing and maintaining relationships with key grain producers and dealers. You will promote Crop Input sales as well as gain market information for producers and source grain to satisfy P&H\xe2\x80\x99s export and domestic customer needs.

Your day-to-day activities will include:

• Contributing to the success of the Crop Inputs business;
• Identify business opportunities with producers and dealers
• Negotiate contracts with producers and dealers on the purchase of grain
• First point of contact for purchasing and delivery of grain
• Meet with producers face to face to prospect for new business, nurture relationships, and collect grain samples
• Update producers on market information
• Review grain marketing programs
• Provide the P&H Merchandising team with grain market information from producers and dealers

The successful candidate should enter the position with the following qualifications:

• Experience in sales, with preference given to candidates with sales experience specific to the grain industry
• Post-secondary education is an asset
• Strong sales techniques and negotiation strategies
• Exceptional customer service, relationship building and networking skills
• Proven ability to meet sales targets
• Ability to close deals
• Must be available to travel periodically
• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, high proficiency in Excel)
