Grain Buyer - Role Details:
Competitive base salary: $80,000-$90,000* (based on experience)

Grain Buyer - Responsibilities:
Build and grow strong relationships with producers and sellers to expand business base
Negotiate and purchase grain (chickpeas, lentils, peas, and other specialty crops) to increase market share
Maintain trusted partnerships with farmers, brokers, and toll processors
Keep accurate daily records of grain received, grades, prices, volumes, and inventory
Purchase the right grain grades for domestic and export contracts
Coordinate timely deliveries to their destinations
Send daily bid/offer reports to management
Share weekly crop progress, harvest updates, and market trend reports
Grain Buyer - Qualifications
A degree in Ag-Business or related training (preferred)
2+ years of experience in grain buying or ag commodity procurement
A solid network of grower and elevator relationships
Experience with contract management and grain purchasing systems
Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
Comfort using Excel, Word, Outlook, and internal data systems
Highly organized with an ability to balance shifting priorities
Willingness to travel regionally and occasionally abroad (less than 10%)
