Graduate Research Assistant
As a Graduate Research Assistant in the Jane and Ron Graham Centre for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), you will play a vital role in supporting a SoTL Research project. Working closely with the Graham Centre for SoTL Director, Dr. Melanie Hamilton, your responsibilities will include assisting in the early stage of the development of SoTL research project.
Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze data for a literature review, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established research protocols
  • Support the preparation of research findings and insights for dissemination through reports, presentations, and scholarly publications
  • Access public facing websites to find information related to this SoTL project
  • Maintain detailed documentation of research activities, data collection procedures, and analysis techniques
  • May collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and participate in regular project meetings to ensure effective progress and coordination
  • Adhere to ethical guidelines and research protocols throughout the research process
  • Report directly to Dr. Melanie Hamilton, providing regular updates on project progress and seeking guidance as needed
Required Number of Hours: 30 hours total
Duration of Employment: October 1, 2025 - April 30, 2026
Qualifications (Skills and Abilities)
  • Must be enrolled in the Cross Departmental PhD program with a focus in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning
  • Demonstrated experience in the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL), including awareness of SoTL methodologies and research practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present research findings and insights to diverse audiences
  • Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams.
