Job Summary


The Faculty of Computer Science (FCS) offers degrees tailored to match individual interests in a high-tech discipline at the forefront of innovation. Staff work with faculty members to help build a foundation for student success as students prepare, through academics and research, for a career in one of the world's hottest growth industries. Reporting to the Dean, the Graduate Recruitment Manager develops and manages strategies, processes and the execution of activities relating to the recruitment and admissions of prospective students and applicants both domestic and international into all graduate programs in the Faculty of Computer Science.


Key Responsibilities


Leads the development and execution of the long and short-term Faculty recruitment goals and strategy for the upcoming recruitment cycle, collaborating with Faculty leadership to ensure recruitment strategy aligns with the Faculty's strategic plan. Represent the Faculty of Computer Science at public events which may include, but not limited to, career fairs, networking events, campus visits, company visits, in an effort to acquaint prospective students and industry members with the opportunities available at Dalhousie. Manage recruitment processes to ensure quality service and communications with applicants. This includes inquiry follow-ups, email campaigns, information sessions, web content development, in-person meetings, etc. Identify, develop and manage relationships with other academic institutions in Canada and internationally to develop recruitment pipelines into the Faculty's graduate programs. Develop and execute country and region-specific recruitment strategies to align with the unique wants, needs and barriers of existing and emerging recruitment markets. Stay up to date on market trends around subject matters such as immigration, education trends, socio-economic factors and other factors that contribute to international student decision making.



Note


The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work from within Nova Scotia) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.


Required Qualifications


Undergraduate degree, with three to five years' experience, preferably in a recruitment, sales or business development role (or an equivalent combination of training and experience). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, high level critical and strategic thinking with a combination of relationship building and management, public speaking, event planning, marketing, and event/project management skills. Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.



Assets


Master's degree. Experience in a post-secondary environment. RISIA or RCIC certification or the willingness to pursue the same.
