The Position

Western Archrib is seeking an experienced Grading Supervisor to lead our grading department at the Sturgeon County manufacturing facility.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, technical knowledge in lumber grading, a commitment to safety, and the ability to guide and support a high-performing production team.

About the Role

The Grading Supervisor oversees daily grading operations, ensuring accurate lumber classification, safe work practices, product quality, and efficient workflow. Comprehensive onboarding and role-specific training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and support the daily activities of the grading team Ensure accurate lumber grading and compliance with standards Monitor production flow and equipment to maintain efficiency Provide training, coaching, and guidance to staff Conduct safety, quality, and housekeeping inspections Address performance and attendance concerns as required Collaborate with management and other departments Maintain records, reports, and communication logs Support continuous improvement initiatives Ensure adherence to OH&S and internal safety policies
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in lumber grading or supervisory roles Strong understanding of lumber characteristics and grading standards Leadership experience in a production environment Ability to work safely around heavy industrial equipment Physically fit; able to lift up to 50 lbs Strong communication and problem-solving skills Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Flexibility with shift schedules CSA-approved steel-toed boots required (other PPE provided)

Work Schedule

Days: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Shift times could change due to grading requirements.

Overtime may be required based on production needs.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
