Our company Cotecna Canada team (department Agriculture) is looking to recruit a Full-Time Grader/Inspector to join our team. Join our exciting journey and contribute to our growth and success!

MISSION



The mission of the Commercial Operations department is to continually develop existing and cultivate new clientele to align with the Objectives of the Company.

The responsibilities of the Grader/Inspector are to render inspection services which are timely, accurate, safe, legal, ethical, and effective; and to perform the necessary volume measurements, temperature measurements, sampling, calculations, documentation, and reporting which ensure that the customer receives an independent, accurate, and complete assessment of quantity and quality of material. Grader/Inspector should be able to work alone or on a group surrounding.

The Grader/Inspector will carry out the responsibilities detailed within, relating to the day-to-day operations of the Commercial Division and all others which may be assigned, in a manner demonstrating support for and adherence to the Company\xe2\x80\x99s Quality Management System, the Company\xe2\x80\x99s Policy and Procedures, including Vision and Strategy, and to exercise good judgment, common sense, and diplomacy in so doing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares and organize grain inspection jobs so that services are rendered, and reports and samples are submitted, in a timely manner.
  • Conducts grading/sampling duties and ad hoc projects
  • Works with Operations Manager to solve day-to-day grain inspections operations.
  • Attends commodity material movements involving loading and unloading of rail cars or trucks.
  • Performs routine equipment calibration, verification, and function checks.
  • Performs, by specified methodology, visual observation, volume measurement, temperature measurement, and sampling of commodity materials contained or conveyed in rail cars or trucks.
  • Communicates and coordinate with loading facilities and Cotecna management personnel to promote the smooth exercise of duties assigned.
  • Verifies and communicate the results obtained, and to make the entries into the appropriate media, whether print or electronic, required to ensure the validity and traceability of the information.
  • Maintains work areas, records, and equipment in a clean, organized, and functional condition.
  • Monitors the availability of the supplies needed for the above processes, and to make any needs for such supplies known to the Site Manager.
  • Assists in the inspection, quality system application and organizational training of less experienced employees by utilizing approved online and printed materials and/or materials supplied by Cotecna management.
  • Maintains and calibrate field equipment in conjunction with the methods and intervals the Operations Manager has set.


QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Proficient in Canadian Grain Grading is a must.
  • Over +4 years of experience as a Grain Grader Level 2
  • Min. Grain Grader Level 2 required
  • His/her training records must reflect that he/she has acquired the skills relevant to the job requirements he is entrusted to.
  • High school diploma
  • Grasp of basic mathematics and computer skills.
  • Knowledge of specific product industry or technician level is an advantage.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established deadlines.
  • Detail oriented with a dedication to the quality control and quality assurance process.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Ability to multi-task and properly execute multiple simultaneous assignments without sacrificing efficiency or quality of the work.
  • Physically able to do the work required
  • Must be able to work various hours and days to fulfill staffing requirements.
  • Should have a positive attitude, a high tolerance for job pressure and the ability for working and communicating with persons of diverse personalities and backgrounds.
  • Should have a valid driver license
