Artemis Gold received its BC Mines Act permit for Blackwater Mine in March 2023 enabling the project to move into major works construction.
Reporting to the Senior Geologist, the Grade Control Coordinator is responsible for a wide range of tasks to support mining operations.
Location: Blackwater Mine Site - located 160km southwest of Prince George, BC.
Schedule: Two (2) Weeks On - Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation
Responsibilities:
Supporting day-to-day drilling operations, working closely with geology team and drilling contractors to ensure successful drilling campaigns
Attend daily line-up meetings and communicate drilling plans
Co-ordinate drilling operations with geology, mining, environment and safety teams
Organize and coordinate grade-control samplers and/or mine services crew assigned to grade control tasks
Train new staff on sampling procedures
Ensure highest quality control of drilling samples including preparation of sample sheets, checking standards and blanks for correct order, count, measure, weigh, and label samples as needed.
Manage sample shipments to and from external laboratories
Manage daily drilling information and performing basic data entry
Monitor inventory of drilling consumables and equipment
Creating ATCs/POs, approving, receiving of goods and materials
Deliver samples from the drill site to the on-site prep lab
Prepare and label sample bags for the RC drill
Prepare samples for delivery to the external laboratory facility, recording relevant information such sample weight, sample ID number
Collect samples for ML/ARD monitoring
Qualifications:
Willingness to learn and follow instructions from experienced team members.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
BSc in Geology or Engineering preferred
Experience in diamond drilling or reverse circulation drilling programmes is an asset
Computers skills (email, word processing, spreadsheets)
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in an outdoor environment.
Experience running small mobile equipment such as telehandler, skid steer, forklift, is an asset.
Flexibility to adapt to changing project needs and responsibilities.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license.
