ABOUT
St. Mary's School in Chilliwack is a welcoming Catholic elementary school (Preschool to Grade 7) where faith and learning go hand in hand. Rooted in Gospel values and guided by the BC curriculum, we help every child grow academically, spiritually, and socially in a caring community. JOB DESCRIPTION
Be willing and able to work collaboratively within the school community
Have a strong understanding of project based and inquiry learning, core and curricular competencies, and best practices in assessment strategies
Be able to adapt instructional methods to support different learning styles through UDL
Be familiar with current best practices with early literacy intervention
Be willing to administer literacy assessments (Dibels, JJ Basic Reading Inventory, Alberta Diagnostic, etc.) or be willing to learn
Have excellent communication and classroom management skills
Have experience working with students who are at various points in their learning journey
Be willing to commit to extracurriculars (sports, arts, music, clubs, etc) to further support the goals of the school
A key part of this role involves preparing students to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communion for the first time. The successful candidate will be someone who can journey with students and families through this sacred and joyful time in their faith formation.

On an on-going basis, we accept teacher applications for grade levels K to 12 for our Catholic schools throughout the Greater Vancouver Area and Powell River in beautiful British Columbia. All Catholics, non-Catholics, new education grads, and experienced teachers from across Canada are strongly encouraged to apply.
