We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Tutor to support students in achieving their academic goals. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, strong communication skills, and experience working with children. This role involves providing personalized instruction in various subjects, with a focus on fostering confidence and academic success. The Tutor will work closely with students to identify their needs and develop tailored learning plans in a positive and encouraging environment.

Duties

Deliver 1:1 math tutoring sessions (in-home or virtual) Support with Grade 12 Math, including Advanced Functions, Calculus & Vectors Prepare customized learning approaches based on the student's goals Provide feedback after each session to keep the family updated Encourage confidence, independent learning, and problem-solving skills Maintain punctuality and professionalism Assess students' strengths and areas for improvement to create customized lesson plans. Support students with homework, test preparation, and skill development. Utilize effective teaching methods to engage students and enhance their understanding of subject matter.

Skills

Experience working with children in educational or tutoring settings. Strong background in subjects such as Math. Teaching or classroom experience is highly desirable. Knowledge of special education practices to support diverse learners. Excellent communication skills to effectively convey concepts and motivate students. Proficiency in computer skills, including educational software and online learning tools. Ability to adapt teaching methods based on individual student needs and learning styles. Passion for education and helping students succeed in their academic pursuits. Contract length: 3 months

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2 - 6 per week
