Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) is one of the largest school divisions in Alberta, serving the education needs of approximately 17,950 students in 42 schools. EIPS is recruiting a temporary full-time Grade 1 Teacher at Lakeland Ridge.

Lakeland Ridge serves approximately 720 students in kindergarten to Grade 9, with 32 teaching staff and 11 support staff. The school is located in Sherwood Park, AB.


Lakeland Ridge focuses on academic excellence, technology, fitness and recreation, art, and community involvement. The school's motto, "Pride in our Pack," is demonstrated daily through strong literacy programs and initiatives, an excellent character education program, leadership and peer support opportunities, athletics, and extracurricular activities such as the Linking Generations program.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Education degree Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate Effective organization and classroom management skills Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged Excellent verbal and written skills Experience or familiarity with analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction Strong collaboration and teamwork skills Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training First Aid training would be an asset Experience and/or training with the Science of Reading
