Position Overview:

Essex Golf & Country Club is seeking a friendly, organized, and golf-knowledgeable individual to join our team as a

Golf Starter

. As the first point of contact on the first tee, the Starter plays a key role in ensuring a welcoming and well-paced experience for members and guests.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet players and provide clear instructions regarding tee times, course conditions, pace of play, and local rules Maintain an orderly and timely flow of groups on the first tee Record tee time starts and report any delays or issues to the golf shop or marshal Provide exceptional customer service, answer player questions, and promote club policies in a professional manner Assist with tournament starts and other special events as needed Ensure the starter area is clean, organized, and presentable at all times

Qualifications:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills Knowledge of the game of golf and basic golf etiquette Dependable and punctual with a professional appearance Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays Previous experience in a golf or hospitality setting is an asset
