Kuriosities is searching for a new bench jeweller to join our growing team in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada! Successful candidates will enjoy working in a supportive, energetic, and collaborative environment as we create together. We are looking for a jeweller who is seeking a long term position with opportunity to grow, as we grow. This is an on-site workshop-only position - our retail shop is in a different location, so you will not be required to work with clients or provide customer service to the public. If you thrive spending your days creating without client interruptions, we have a fully equipped bench just for you! We strive for excellence in our work, with a fine eye to detailed finishing - if this also sounds like you, we want to hear from you! Superior craftsmanship is our top priority. Skills you need: Basic hand fabrication of jewellery (jewelry)- including piercing, soldering, forging, and finishing in both sterling silver and gold. Cleaning, and polishing castings Stone setting - MUST be skilled in flush setting, simple prong setting in a variety of cuts (round, oval, emerald, pear, princess, marquise), bezel setting, tube setting. Intermediate and advanced stone setting is definitely an asset. Basic Repair (re-tipping, stone tightening, chain repair) and re-sizing You will be required to present current samples of your work, and perform a bench test in person or via zoom. 37.5 hours/ week with flexible days fully equipped workshop Located in beautiful historic, downtown Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada. You will not be required to work overtime, or come in on your days off - you can spend that time exploring our many beaches! We are able to help with re-location (help finding housing, and everything you need in your new Island home!), as well as with some costs associated with your move.
