Purpose of Role



Kinross is looking for a university student to assist the HR Operations department during the summer of 2024. The role will provide the candidate an opportunity to gain an introductory experience to the mining industry, a publicly listed international company and exposure to the day-to-day functions of the HR Department.


Job Responsibilities



  • Handle routine and straightforward administrative duties such as; data entry, filing and preparing employment confirmation letters
  • Assist in benefit administration and data audits, as directed
  • Assist with the onboarding and offboarding process; submit IT tickets, use templates to prepare letters
  • Prepare presentations, spreadsheets and other materials to be used within the department or shared with senior management
  • Assist with non-routine administrative projects as needed, such as streamlining automated processes and updating the Canada HR home page
  • Maintain HR electronic & physical filing systems



Minimum Requirements



Education and Experience

  • 2nd or 3rd year Business or Human Resources student
  • Previous intern or volunteer experience in HR is considered an asset

Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to perform well independently as well as on a team
  • Superior analytical skills in excel, and great attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
