POSITION SUMMARY

Mirum is expanding its commercial operations in North America. Reporting to the VP of Sales & Marketing, the General Manager Canada will build and lead Mirum's local presence. This individual will develop Canadian country plans for world-class launches and will lead and execute country commercial, medical, pricing and market access activities.This role is crucial for the expansion in North America. It offers a unique opportunity for a strong market leader to develop strong country operations in Canada and play a key role on the broader Leadership Team.

JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead Mirum Canada with responsibility for country business planning, cross-functional leadership, and overall country P&L.
  • Lead development and implementation of local launch plans in line with global strategy.
  • Lead commercialization in Canada
  • Leads development and execution of the pricing and access plan for Canada, in partnership with the market access team and leadership
  • Develop the recommended distribution model and oversee ongoing execution in Canada
  • Develop and implement local reimbursement strategy, lead pricing negotiations with local payors.
  • Create and maintain trust-based relationships with patient advocacy groups, HCPs, policymakers, payors and regulators at senior levels to advance business priorities.
  • Contribute to the organization's overall strategy and provide timely input to senior management on opportunities and risks, and adjust country plans as needed.
  • Continue to build and maintain commercial team culture and play a highly integrative role with the global organization.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant legal, regulatory and compliance requirements, corporate policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:
  • Solid understanding of the pharmaceutical/biotech commercial operations.
  • At least 12+ years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role in Canada, developing and executing launches.
  • Successful experience with market access (price and reimbursement) negotiations.
  • Experience with building and maintaining strong relationships with government stakeholders, payors, policymakers, agencies, KOLs and patient associations.
  • Commercial acumen and financially savvy.
  • Good understanding of IP and regulatory process.
  • Rare or ultra-rare, pediatric, disease experience preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree required, MBA and/or relevant post graduate qualifications preferred.

  • A good communicator with business partnering skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally in a fast-paced ever-changing, global working environment.
  • Able to drive initiatives and lead new projects in a lean organization by working cross functionally and using key stakeholders' areas of expertise.
  • Enjoy building and creating and is a self-starter.
  • Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple work streams at once.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Great attention to detail and self-motivation.
