Role and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager, Indirect Global Strategic Sourcing, Real Estate and International Relations, the Global Real Estate Category and Vendor Manager, Indirect Global Strategic Sourcing, will work closely with our internal customers, the broader Global Strategic Sourcing team, local purchasing teams, other stakeholder groups, brokers and suppliers alike to drive competitive category and supply strategies with aim to reduce cost while ensuring perfect execution and risks mitigation across CAE\xe2\x80\x99s Training Centers and Flight Training operations situated mainly in Americas and RoW (excluding Europe).

The candidate should be comfortable in a fast paced and ever-changing environment where no 2 days are the same. The candidate must demonstrate highly effective collaboration internally and externally, have a passionate focus on success, commitment to continuous improvement and a relentless drive to deliver results. The successful candidate must exhibit strong analytical and communication skills, a proven ability to build relationships with senior level stakeholders across the organization and have experience in real estate, construction and facility management.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides strategic business support:

  • Understands internal customer needs. Implements global and local procurement strategies in all regions by building a network across all the training centers and flight training operations.
  • Provides strategic direction, leadership and support related to category management & strategic sourcing to achieve corporate & divisional business objectives.
  • Provides expert recommendations to internal stakeholders. Establishes and maintains effective partnering relationships within the Business units and internal support organizations and externally with suppliers (occasionally with customers).
  • Establishes Service Level Agreements with internal customers and Key Performance Indicators for the Organization to meet annual objectives and long-term strategies.
  • Drives continuous improvement and supports the current business transformation within scope of work.
For the assigned categories:
  • Leads formulation and implementation of the Real Estate, Construction and Facility Management category strategies and present to internal customers spend trends, sourcing opportunities, supplier consolidation initiatives and market information. Conducts category intelligence research and partners with stakeholders to identify opportunities and channel innovation.
  • Communicate effectively with and build strong relationships with landlords, brokers and developers.
  • Collaborate with internal customers to validate the real estate strategy including lease terminations, consolidations, expansions, renewals and relocations.
  • Set negotiations strategies, conduct complex contractual and commercial negotiations for the categories assigned.
  • Drive strategic initiatives relating to sourcing of new suppliers, in particular conducting RFx (RFP, RFI, RFQ) as appliable.
  • Lead and facilitate completion of contractual documents, including but not limited to MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, amendments, etc.
  • Partner with the appropriate internal teams (Corporate Real Estate, Legal, Insurance, Finance, Tax, etc.) in ensuring agreement terms minimize risk and properly protect CAE\xe2\x80\x99s interests.
  • Develop and facilitate regular business reviews with key suppliers and internal customers to review supplier performance, future opportunities and/or challenges.
  • Conducts cross-functional cost reduction, cost avoidance and/or net cash working capital improvement initiatives. Builds a culture and delivers sustainable value without compromising supply assurance or quality.
  • Applies Category Management best practices and principles. If necessary, depending on category, organizes and leads global category councils.
  • Supports Purchasing and Project teams in resolving issues with key suppliers. Follows relevant category metrics to consistently deliver the expected cost reduction plans.
Develops and manages supplier relationships:
  • Conducts Supplier Relationship Management framework with key suppliers.
  • Expertly uses a complete set of legal, commercial and business principles to develop and enforce partnership agreements with strategic suppliers, in close relation with Legal and other relevant departments.
  • Locates appropriate vendors in emerging countries and develops sustainable partnerships in compliance with CSR policies and other standards.
  • Leads market intelligence to identify relevant external innovations and seek competitive advantages by partnering with world-class suppliers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Management, Business, Economics, Real Estate or other applicable discipline required.
  • Proficient in English required. Other languages considered an asset.
  • Required proficiency in Microsoft Suite products, including but not limited to, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. BI considered an asset
  • Knowledge of the aviation market considered an asset
  • Required minimum 5-8 years of solid strategic sourcing and negotiation experience. Real Estate, Construction or Facility Management sourcing category expertise is considered an asset.
  • Experience with Oracle ERP/P2P, SAP and Ariba preferred.

  • Relationship builder and stakeholder manager. Ability to form and grow own networks. Proven ability to analyze and present data in a clear and cohesive manner.
  • Result driven individual capable of taking responsibility and delivering results, overcoming obstacles and setbacks, and make decisions within the scope of the role without management validation and approval.
  • Understanding of real estate principles, concepts, legal terms specific to Real Estate is considered an asset. Self-directed, able to work independently, as well as work in a team-orientated and fast paced environment and prioritize own workload.
  • Capable of navigating through ambiguous situations. Ability to work collaboratively and support multiple simultaneous initiatives, requiring frequent communication, organization and time management. Must have strong problem solving, strategic and analytical capability and demonstrated ability to influence and lead others.

  • Demonstrate an open-minded genuine curiosity towards understanding the needs of business and the impact of applied solutions.
