We\'re thrilled to welcome those who want to learn more about us and to be part of what we do.Your opportunity:Reporting to the Assistant Director, Intercultural and Global Initiatives, the Global Mobility Coordinator will advance the International Education Centre\'s (IEC) mission, as an innovative, collaborative, and globally significant leader in the internationalization of the student experience. The Global Mobility Coordinator will assume primary responsibility for the development, administration, and supportof both curricular and co-curricular global experiences for UTM students.The Global Mobility Coordinator will serve as a project manager for international learning initiatives and will act as the main point of contact for all UTM students interested in global learning. The incumbent will oversee key student mobility programs at UTM including but not limited to UTM Abroad, exchange, and Global Classrooms. In addition, they will serve as a resource for new programs ensuring a successful integration of programming with existing programming structures.The incumbent will manage relationships with key stakeholders (e.g. academic departments, faculty, staff, student leaders, campus groups, not-for-profit agencies, vendors, non-governmental organizations, etc.) and identify areas of growth that contribute to the larger strategic international goals of the University. The role will work closely with the mobility teams internal and external to the University. The Global Mobility Coordinator\'s responsibilities will sometimes necessitate work during evening and weekend hours.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and implementing components of curricular and/or co-curricular programs and activities.
  • Advising students on co-curricular, academic and personal matters by providing options and consequences incorporating personal circumstances impacting academic success and an understanding of an individual\'s background.
  • Fostering cooperative working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external contacts.
  • Preparing detailed analysis of risk factors to inform planning decisions for international travel.
  • Scheduling travel plans and requesting appropriate accommodations.
  • Facilitating educational workshops and seminars.
  • Monitoring and reconciling accounts for a project and/or program.
  • Directing the activities of casual staff.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum four years of related experience in student development/affairs, international education, partnerships, and student advising.
  • Exceptional intercultural competency, experience working with diverse communities & cultures and an understanding of anti-oppression and equity practices.
  • Demonstrated relationship management skills with multiple stakeholder groups internal and external to the University including faculty, staff, and international partners.
  • Experience developing and leading large components of projects.
  • Financial management & budget experience.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Strong computer software skills, including advanced Excel, Word, as well as use of web-based interfaces and databases.
Assets (Nonessential):
  • International experience.
  • Formal Excel training would be an asset.
  • Project Management certification would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of customer service and information communication standards of practice in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians withDisabilities Act (AODA).
  • Extensive knowledge of the University\'s academic and administrative structures and policies, procedures and governance processes.
  • Ability to organize, motivate, and work constructively with a variety of partners and comfort in speaking with students, staff and faculty at all levels of the University.

USW Pay Band 12 -- $78,308 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $100,144. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
