This position falls under our Cross-Border line of business and is located in Toronto, ON. In this role, you will build and implement a bank and fund underwriting framework and target operating models. The role involves underwriting and ensuring adhere to the Company\'s underwriting guidelines and standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our underwriting operations. Company-issued equipmentRole ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities of the role will include:Build and implement models:Develop and implement banks and funds underwriting model fit for purpose.
Support and develop an underwriting framework for new products within the FI vertical.
Design and establish a target operating model to optimize FI underwriting processes.Underwrite:Perform underwriting for the FI segment.
Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Assess and analyze financial information to determine risk levels and make informed underwriting decisions.Data Analysis and Reporting:Analyze the portfolio to identify risks and prepare a remediation plan.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management.Collaboration:Work closely with other departments such as sales, finance, IT, and treasury to ensure cohesive operations.
Provide guidance and training to junior underwriting staff.Continuous Improvement:Stay up to date with industry trends, macro events, and best practices.
Recommend and implement improvements to underwriting processes and models.Qualifications & SkillsBachelor\'s (Master\' preferred) degree in finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Professional certifications such as CFA, CA, and FRM are assets.
Proven experience in underwriting, and managing credit risk.
Experience with regulatory compliance in underwriting.
Strong analytical skills and experience in building financial models.
Experience in the Foreign Exchange will be considered a significant asset.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
