Reporting to the Global Infrastructure Architect, the Global Core Architect will be a service owner for key global services and responsible for implementation, deployment and management of highly available global solutions for Finning.

Working closely with internal business teams, vendors, and partners across all Finning regions, you will develop and maintain core infrastructure services to meet operational goals for high availability, performance, stability, security and cost efficiency.

As an experienced global core infrastructure architect, you bring a subject matter expert level of knowledge with a desire to modernize and continuously innovate.

The work location for this role can be in any of our Finning operating regions (Western Canada {BC or AB or SK}, UK & Ireland, and South America {Chile, Argentina and Bolivia}).

:

• Initiate and participate in technology projects. (40%)
• Oversee or consult on business projects. (20%)
• Creation of roadmap, design, implementation, and operation planning activities. (10%)
• Collaborate with operations teams for contract management, monitoring, and optimization. (10%)
• Evaluate technology industry and market trends determining the impact of technology changes on user experience. (10%)
• Lead design sessions with Finning personnel as well as external parties. (10%)
• Architecture and implementing solutions in a global enterprise environment.
• Experience with hardware, software, and solutions in area of responsibility.
• Participate in global disaster recovery programs and exercises
• Continuous service improvement with the goal to improve costs, delivery, and service level targets
• Provide troubleshooting and root cause analysis for production issues
• Develop, implement, and enhance service delivery health, including key performance indicators of the services for which you are responsible

Accountability:

• Design of service offerings and standard configurations.
• Accountable for Finning\xe2\x80\x99s global end to end design and solution selection relating to core infrastructure.
• Ensure all relevant Architecture and Infrastructure documentation is up to date and accurate.
• Tier 3.5 escalation support for core infrastructure
• Provide recommendations on technology to meet business and technical objectives.
• Identify deficiencies in current designs and planned changes; recommend solutions for improvement.
• Assist with technology governance activities.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5-10 years of demonstrable technical expertise in complex infrastructure and compute environments
• Subject matter expert with Active Directory (AD) and Azure Active Directory (AAD)
• Domain Controller maintenance and configuration for complex deployments/large enterprises including AD convergence and replication optimization
• In depth understanding of core infrastructure services: DNS, DHCP, SFTP, Kerberos, SPN, NPS, LDAP, etc.
• Experience creating and managing complex AD forests and domains including full disaster recovery and business continuity plans
• Strong understanding and Management of PKI
• Scripting experience with PowerShell, VB, etc., for automation
• Demonstrable experience maintaining the hygiene of user accounts and Group Policies Objects (GPOs) throughout the AD forest
• Experience working with vendors to review service offerings, solutions, and pricing to achieve project objectives
• Familiar with products and solutions from vendors such as, but not limited to, VMware, Citrix, AWS, Red Hat and SUSE an asset
• Knowledge and experience with ITIL methodology including incident, change, problem, request, and event management an asset
• Relevant industry certifications are considered an asset
• Must be fluent in English (verbal and written), Spanish would be an asset
