L'Universite Bishop's recherche un Gestionnaire des Services aux Etudiants pour un poste regulier a temps plein. Se rapportant au Directeur de l'Experience Etudiante et de l'Engagement, le/la titulaire du poste est responsable de la coordination, de la supervision et de l'amelioration continue des services de soutien cles aux etudiants, incluant le counseling, le developpement de carriere, le soutien aux etudiants internationaux et les services d'accessibilite. Le/la Gestionnaire veille a ce que les services soient centres sur l'etudiant, inclusifs et adaptes aux besoins evolutifs de la population etudiante diversifiee de Bishop's.
Ce role implique la supervision d'une equipe de professionnels, le soutien a la prestation de programmes de haute qualite, et la contribution a une experience etudiante positive par la collaboration, l'innovation et le leadership operationnel. Le/la Gestionnaire offre egalement un soutien direct occasionnel aux etudiants dans des domaines tels que les strategies d'apprentissage et les accommodements academiques. La semaine de travail est de 35 heures, du lundi au vendredi avec des soirees et fins de semaine occasionnelles.
Nature des taches et des responsabilites
Superviser et soutenir le personnel professionnel des services de counseling, de carriere, des etudiants internationaux et des services d'accessibilite.
Coordonner les operations quotidiennes des services aux etudiants pour assurer une prestation rapide, inclusive et centree sur l'etudiant.
Collaborer avec le Directeur pour mettre en oeuvre des initiatives strategiques visant a ameliorer le bien-etre, l'engagement et la retention des etudiants.
Offrir un soutien individualise en strategies d'apprentissage et, au besoin, des conseils ou du counseling en tete-a-tete.
Developper et animer des ateliers et des ressources pour les etudiants, le corps professoral et le personnel sur des sujets tels que la sante mentale, les accommodements academiques et la preparation a la carriere.
Accompagner les etudiants dans les transitions cles de leur parcours academique, de l'orientation a la diplomation.
Assurer la conformite avec la legislation provinciale et les politiques institutionnelles en matiere de dossiers etudiants, d'accessibilite et de confidentialite.
Promouvoir la visibilite et l'accessibilite des services aux etudiants par des activites de sensibilisation, des communications et des partenariats sur le campus.
Etablir et maintenir des relations avec des fournisseurs de services externes pour renforcer les reseaux de soutien aux etudiants.
Suivre l'utilisation des services et les commentaires des etudiants pour evaluer l'efficacite et orienter les ameliorations.
Gerer les budgets des services et contribuer a l'identification d'opportunites de financement et d'efficience des ressources.
Participer a des comites et groupes de travail universitaires lies au soutien et a l'engagement des etudiants.
Accomplir toute autre tache connexe.
Qualifications et exigences
Maitrise dans un domaine pertinent (ex. : counseling, psychologie, education, affaires etudiantes) ; l'inscription a un ordre professionnel (ex. : Ordre des psychologues du Quebec) est un atout.
Minimum de cinq (5) annees d'experience progressive dans les services aux etudiants ou un domaine connexe, incluant des responsabilites de supervision ou de leadership d'equipe.
Capacite demontree a soutenir le bien-etre, la reussite academique et le developpement personnel des etudiants par des services inclusifs et centres sur l'etudiant.
Experience dans le soutien aux strategies d'apprentissage, les accommodements academiques ou le counseling en milieu postsecondaire.
Excellentes competences interpersonnelles et en communication, avec la capacite de collaborer avec divers departements et une population etudiante diversifiee.
Capacite averee a gerer du personnel, coordonner la prestation de services et mettre en oeuvre des ameliorations operationnelles.
Connaissance de la legislation pertinente et des meilleures pratiques en matiere d'accessibilite, de confidentialite et de soutien aux etudiants.
Experience en planification de programmes, evaluation de services et prise de decisions fondees sur les donnees.
Experience en gestion budgetaire et capacite a identifier des opportunites de financement ou des gains d'efficience.
Connaissance de la theorie du developpement etudiant consideree comme un atout.
Bilinguisme en anglais et en francais, avec d'excellentes competences verbales et ecrites dans les deux langues.
Disponibilite flexible pour soutenir des activites occasionnelles en soiree ou en fin de semaine.

Bishop's University is seeking a Manager of Student Services for a regular full-time position. Reporting to the Director of Student Experience & Engagement the incumbent is responsible for the coordination, supervision, and continuous improvement of key student support services, including Counselling, Career Development, International Student Support, and Accessibility Services. The Manager ensures that services are student-centered, inclusive, and responsive to the evolving needs of Bishop's diverse student population.
This role involves supervising a team of professionals, supporting the delivery of high-quality programs, and contributing to a positive student experience through collaboration, innovation, and operational leadership. The Manager also provides occasional direct student support in areas such as learning strategies and academic accommodations. This position has a work week of 35 hours from Monday to Friday with occasional evenings and weekends required.
Nature of duties and responsibilities
Supervise and support professional staff across Counselling, Career, International, and Accessibility Services.
Coordinate the day-to-day operations of student services to ensure timely, inclusive, and student-centered delivery.
Collaborate with the Director to implement strategic initiatives that enhance student well-being, engagement, and retention.
Provide individualized learning strategy support and occasional one-on-one student advising or counseling as needed.
Develop and deliver workshops and resources for students, faculty, and staff on topics such as mental health, academic accommodations, and career readiness.
Support students through key transitions in their academic journey, from orientation to graduation.
Ensure compliance with provincial legislation and institutional policies related to student records, accessibility, and confidentiality.
Promote the visibility and accessibility of student services through outreach, communications, and campus partnerships.
Build and maintain relationships with external service providers to enhance student support networks.
Monitor service usage and student feedback to assess effectiveness and inform improvements.
Manage service area budgets and assist in identifying funding opportunities and resource efficiencies.
Participate in university committees and working groups related to student support and engagement.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., counseling, psychology, education, student affairs); registration with a professional order (e.g., Order of Quebec Psychologists) is an asset.
Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in student services or a related field, including supervisory or team leadership responsibilities.
Demonstrated ability to support student well-being, academic success, and personal development through inclusive and student-centered services.
Experience in providing learning strategy support, academic accommodations, or counseling in a post-secondary setting.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and with diverse student populations.
Proven ability to manage staff, coordinate service delivery, and implement operational improvements.
Familiarity with relevant legislation and best practices related to accessibility, confidentiality, and student support.
Experience with program planning, service evaluation, and data-informed decision-making.
Budget management experience and ability to identify funding opportunities or resource efficiencies.
Knowledge of student development theory considered an asset
Bilingual in English and French, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
Flexible availability to support occasional evening or weekend programming.
