We are seeking a motivated and skilled Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer to join our team and contribute to our ongoing success.
Job Summary:
The Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer will play a crucial role in conducting geotechnical investigations, providing design recommendations, and supporting the successful completion of projects across various sectors, including infrastructure, construction, and development. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for innovation in geotechnical engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct geotechnical site investigations, including drilling, sampling, and in-situ testing.
Analyze soil, rock, and groundwater data to develop geotechnical models and design parameters.
Prepare geotechnical reports, recommendations, and foundation designs.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on construction and infrastructure projects.
Perform slope stability analysis, settlement analysis, and retaining wall design.
Provide geotechnical support during construction, including site visits and inspections.
Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
Ensure projects are completed within budget and time constraints, while maintaining quality standards.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends, guidelines, and geotechnical software.
General Responsibilities:
Carrying out field investigations, including borehole layout, utility clearances, supervision of drill rigs and/or excavators, logging boreholes and test pits, and surveying.
Performing construction site reconnaissance, observations, and inspections (e.g., footing inspections, subgrade inspections, retaining wall inspections, etc.).
Reviewing soil and rock samples in our laboratory, scheduling geotechnical laboratory testing, and compiling test results and borehole logs.
Summarizing and analyzing findings from reconnaissance/inspections, investigations, and lab testing.
Performing QC/QA and ensuring adherence to company standards.
Analyzing and modeling slope stability, settlement, foundation design, soil retaining structures, and other geotechnical problems.
Preparing or assisting with preparing engineering memos and reports.
Assisting other departments as necessary.
Participating in a team-oriented environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's Degree in Geotechnical (Civil or Geological) Engineering.
P.Eng. designation (preferred).
5+ years of relevant geotechnical work experience.
Strong people skills and a desire and ability to work in a team environment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficient in MS Office and AutoCAD.
Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
Availability for local travel and extended working hours when required.
Additional Requirements:
This position involves work-related travel, therefore, a valid driver's license, insurance, and personal vehicle are required (work-related travel expenses will be compensated).

Pay: $63,921.02-$129,050.04 per year
