We are seeking an

Intermediate to Senior Geotechnical Engineer (5-10+ years of experience)

who is

ambitious and eager to take on leadership responsibilities

Position Summary



The successful candidate will lead geotechnical investigations, develop advanced design recommendations, and provide senior-level technical support across a variety of projects. This role is ideal for someone with a strong geotechnical background who is looking to

expand their leadership profile by mentoring junior staff, managing projects, and engaging directly with clients

.

Key Responsibilities



Lead and manage geotechnical site investigations (drilling, sampling, in-situ testing, test pits). Develop and oversee advanced geotechnical analyses: slope stability, settlement, foundation, retaining walls, and pavement subgrades. Prepare and review detailed geotechnical reports, recommendations, and technical memos. Provide oversight and direction on construction projects through site visits, inspections, and technical input. Supervise, mentor, and develop junior engineers, EITs, and field/lab staff. Manage projects to meet scope, schedule, and budget requirements while ensuring high quality. Support business development through proposal preparation, client engagement, and professional networking. Stay current with geotechnical standards, guidelines, and software tools, and introduce innovations to the team.

General Responsibilities



Oversee borehole layout, utility clearances, drill rig/excavator supervision, and surveying. Review and interpret laboratory test results, borehole logs, and data analysis. Conduct and review construction inspections (footings, subgrade, retaining walls, backfill). Ensure strict QA/QC on all deliverables, maintaining ASF's technical standards. Provide geotechnical input and leadership in multidisciplinary projects. Contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented environment while demonstrating initiative to lead.

Qualifications and Skills



Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Geological, or Geotechnical Engineering (Master's degree considered an asset). P.Eng. designation (required)

5-10+ years of progressive geotechnical engineering experience.

Strong technical expertise with proven project delivery experience. Demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor, and lead staff. Excellent written and verbal communication, with client-facing experience. Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and geotechnical software (e.g., SLOPE/W, Settle3, PLAXIS). Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle. Willingness to travel locally and work extended hours when required.
