We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented student to join our dynamic team. This role involves hands-on work with customer SQL Server databases and geoscientific software platforms used in the industry today. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in geological database management and geological data, along with a willingness to travel as part of the job requirements.
Responsibilities:
Assist in SQL Server data migrations from various formats into a relational SQL Server database.
Collaborate with customers to create new workflows and modify existing ones.
Participate in exciting projects involving geological data related to minerals and oil & gas mining.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of scripts and tools using Python scripting and/or other programming languages.
Travel to various project sites (up to 25% travel) to work with customers on geoscientific database capturing and reporting systems.
Requirements:
Currently enrolled in a relevant degree or diploma program (e.g., Computer Science, Geology, Environmental Science, or related fields).
Basic understanding of SQL Server databases.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
Eagerness to learn new software systems and programming languages.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Willingness and ability to travel (up to 25%), sometimes at short notice.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Python or other programming languages.
Familiarity with geology, particularly in the context of minerals and oil & gas mining.
Experience with database querying.
