About the Role





We are hiring for a Business Development Manager (BDM) who will be responsible for driving business growth by identifying new opportunities, building relationships, and expanding the company's market presence. The role involves working closely with key stakeholders to develop strategies that enhance revenue generation, increase market share and strengthen customer relationships. This role reports to the Company President.




Key Responsibilities





Research and analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to identify new business opportunities. Foster long-term relationships with existing clients and provide solutions to meet their evolving needs. Ensure customer satisfaction to drive repeat business. Stay up to date with industry developments, competitor offerings, and emerging trends to position the company effectively. Work closely with the marketing, operations, and product development teams to ensure alignment and effective execution of business strategies. Generate new leads through networking and attending industry events. Build and maintain strong relationships with potential clients, partners, and key industry players. Lead in executing and managing business development initiatives, including organizing and hosting Lunch and Learn sessions, creating and overseeing advertising initiatives, coordinating seminars, and participating in industry tradeshows. Oversee and manage the marketing team by providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure the successful execution of marketing strategies and campaigns. Ensure the team remains motivated, focused, and equipped to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results. Oversee and manage support for new clients during their first year of partnership, collaborating closely with local Branch Managers to ensure they receive the necessary guidance and assistance. Responsible for managing and overseeing the entire proposal process, including the development and maintenance of proposal tools, processes, and systems. Coordination and preparation of high-quality, compelling proposals, ensuring all requirements are met and submitting proposals within deadlines. Manage the use of bid sites and platforms, ensuring that all relevant opportunities are identified and properly tracked. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information, maintain consistency in proposal content and optimize workflows to improve efficiency. Regularly assess and refine proposal processes to ensure alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices. Other duties as required.



What are we looking for?





Excellent communication skills Valid class 5 BC driver's license Minimum of 3-7 years of Business or Sales Development experience Experience in business development in one or more of the fields of Utility locating, GIS mapping, Geophysics, and Surveying across Western Canada. Advanced skills in public speaking, creating and managing presentations while adapting to all kinds of audiences Construction experience is an advantage
