Position and Responsibilities

Cameco's exploration department utilizes the highest quality geoscientific data visualization, interrogation, interpretation, and technical innovation in its search for the next world-class deposit.

As a member of the corporate exploration department, you will be responsible for integrating geoscience data, remotely sensed data, and interpretive products into 2-D and 3-D models using specialist software for collaborative model analysis by teams of multi-disciplinary geoscience specialists. Typical responsibilities for this role include creation and maintenance of wireframes and 3-D models, interpolation of data, and managing 3-D spatial data and software. This position is accountable for time, quality and quantity of interpretations and ensuring products meet the highest standards of geoscience, collaboration, and innovation.

Education and Qualifications

Requirements of the position:

  • Bachelor's degree in Earth Sciences or Computer Science
  • Five to eight years of applicable work experience in geoscience and specialized software
  • Proficiency in 3D modelling, specifically in Seequent Leapfrog Geo and/or Paradigm GOCAD
  • Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
  • Strong analytical, communication and collaboration skills
Assets:
  • Experience working on Exploration programs, field mapping or core logging
  • Eligible for membership with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS)
  • Working knowledge in geospatial and geoscience, database management and programming and quality control experience
  • Experience with Machine Learning / AI
