Our dedicated Survey team, ensures high-quality geomatics support for both new and existing transmission and distribution power facilities. This leadership role combines field expertise with technical guidance to uphold ATCO\'s standards of safety and precision. This position reports directly to the Survey Supervisor and offers a dynamic work environment where precision meets progress.

What You Get to Do:

Field Operations:

• Lead technical support efforts, ensuring survey practices meet the highest standards.
• Oversee compliance with all applicable standards and regulations during field operations.
• Integrate innovative survey technologies and establish best practices for team application.
• Define project alignments, including easement specifications for design stages.
• Coordinate with both internal and external stakeholders to clarify survey requirements.
• Mentor and guide the activities of survey team members and external survey contractors.
• Manage resource scheduling, job planning, and conduct quality audits.
• Execute additional responsibilities as the need arises, embodying the role of a Geomatics Technologist.

Office Operations:

• Conduct quality assurance reviews of all survey documentation, including field notes and technical drawings.
• Offer technical support for the development of sketches and designs based on survey data.
• Validate field work through precise calculations and ensure sketch requirements meet project standards.
• Generate technical drawings and sketches for the engineering team, incorporating survey and design modifications.
• Ensure accurate project documentation through detailed reviews and updates.

What you Bring:

• A High School diploma or equivalent
• Survey/Geomatics Certification or Survey/Civil Technology Certification from a recognized institution.
• A valid Class 5 driver\'s license and First Aid Certification.
• At least 5 years of experience in a geomatics or surveying role, within the construction or land survey sectors.
• Proficiency in using survey-related instruments and software applications.
• Experience in CAD based software applications
• A strong understanding of safety practices and the ability to work effectively in diverse terrain and weather conditions.
