About the Opportunity

Our thriving Calgary office is looking to add a Geomatics CAD Technologist to our growing Geomatics Practice. You will be an integral part of our highly collaborative team, contributing to the success of projects for Land Development, Local Governments, and Indigenous Communities as a motivated and detail-oriented CAD Technologist

Coupled with the diverse learning and project experience opportunities, do you see yourself excited to contribute to:

  • Collaborating with our interdisciplinary professionals, including surveyors, engineers, and planners, to gather and exchange project-related information on a wide variety of land development, infrastructure, and municipal projects to deliver high-quality solutions to clients.
  • Preparing legal survey plans, detailed drawings, and a variety of products through the operation of computer-assisted design (CAD)/Civil 3D) to incorporate survey data, field notes, and measurements into clear and understandable plans.
  • Maintaining organized records of correspondence, survey data, project documentation, and revisions.
  • Performing quality checks of plans and drawings and cross-verification of project information to maintain the highest level of accuracy.
  • Seeking opportunities for process improvement and implementing efficiency-enhancing measures.
About You

Our preferred candidate is a graduate of a CAD or Geomatics Engineering Technology program and has a minimum of two years of related experience. In addition to problem-solving skills and professionalism, we are looking for the following strengths and interests:
  • A commitment to quality service by ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and attention to detail in all projects.
  • Strong technical proficiency, including familiarity with Autodesk software and, more specifically, Civil 3D.
  • A keen eye for preparing esthetically appealing maps and sketches and takes great pride in all deliverables.
  • Basic knowledge of the cadastral and land title system in Alberta, including the Alberta Township System, legal descriptions, and titles.
  • Willingness and ability to adapt to changing project requirements, handle complex challenges, and learn new software, tools, and techniques as needed.
  • A desire to challenge yourself, broaden the scope of your work and take on more responsibility over time through a commitment to personal and professional development.
