Standby Generator Technician

We are currently hiring field service technicians.

Job Requirements:

Perform preventative maintenance in accordance with the most recent addition of the CSA282

Ready and able to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair issues in a timely manner.

Fill out log book and work order with accurate information as well as part specific information.

Perform megger testing and transfer switch maintenance

Interact with customers and office staff in an appropriate and professional manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

Diploma in power generation or completed manufacturer training certificates (Must be generator specific or mechanical specific.)

Some field experience preferred.

A valid G driver's license coupled with a clean drivers abstract

Have a working knowledge of electrical where it pertains to generator systems.

Work well under pressure, able to deal with emergencies and do overtime if necessary.

After hours coverage for overnight/weekends when needed.

A basic knowledge of most recent CSA B139 for diesel fuel systems.

Other Requirements:

Must be able to stand for long periods of time and able to do heavy, repetitive lifting.

Punctuality is a must, all technicians must have excellent time management skills.

Must read, write and speak English fluently.

Excellent communication skills with both customers and office staff.

Work orders must be filled out properly after each site visit.

Summary

As a Generator Mechanic/Technician, you will be a vital team member responsible for maintaining and repairing generators to ensure optimal performance. Utilizing core skills such as mechanical knowledge, hand tools, and heavy lifting, you will diagnose and fix mechanical issues efficiently. Your premium skills in welding and electrical experience will be valuable in handling complex repairs. With relevant skills in Caterpillar equipment and customer service, you will provide exceptional support to clients. Possessing strong communication skills and a valid driver's license, you will excel in this role by effectively managing time and delivering high-quality service.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and repair on generators and related equipment. Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs using hand and power tools. Utilize welding and electrical skills for repairs and installations as needed. Interact with customers to provide technical support and ensure satisfaction. Interpret schematics and technical manuals to diagnose and resolve issues. Collaborate with sales team to recommend appropriate generator solutions based on customer needs.

Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
