Welcome to the role of Field Generator Service Technician! This position is a great opportunity for someone with a technical background and a passion for problem-solving. As a Field Generator Service Technician, you will be responsible for providing on-site repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting services for a variety of generators and related equipment across Nova Scotia. You will have the chance to work with a wide range of customers and build relationships with their teams. As the Field Service Technician, you are responsible for:

• Conducting scheduled preventative maintenance and repairs
• Diagnose and troubleshoot \xe2\x80\xa2
• Follow safety procedures and protocols \xe2\x80\xa2
• Conducting load bank and commissioning of units \xe2\x80\xa2
• Maintain records of maintenance and repair work \xe2\x80\xa2
• Providing feedback to customers \xe2\x80\xa2
• Keeping up to date on new technologies and techniques related to generator service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

You have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read and interpret complex technical instructions, schematics, and diagrams.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb and work from ladders and scaffolding.
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose generator problems.
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of electrical safety practices
• Knowledge of NSHA standards and regulations
• Knowledge of field generator service and repair
• Ability to work in a variety of settings (outdoors, indoors, in confined spaces)
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures.
• Ability to travel as needed.
