Under the general direction of the Analyst Planner Supervisor, the Maintenance Planner is responsible for the planning, scheduling
and outage coordination of all work functions related to the Work Management System (WMS) for Eastern Generation Stations.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring compliance with the Work Management System and SAP-EAM standards.
Participate actively by providing leadership, motivation, training, and development to plant personnel in the achievement of
team goals, including succession planning for future maintenance planners.
Maintain long and short-term outage maintenance schedules for Eastern Generation Stations
Coordinate planning and scheduling of outages for Eastern Generation Stations.
Create Gantt Charts and Network Diagrams (CPM) for Unit outages.
Achieve close working relationships with Eastern local Management teams and station personnel including external crews and
departments and maintain harmonious liaison with all departments concerned.
Plan and produce work orders and schedules for equipment requiring maintenance and provide work packages to work crews.
Responsible for preparing work packages and ensuring that personnel, material, tools and instructions are secured and
available before releasing work orders.
Responsible for maintaining all records in the CMMS and ensuring that all instructions, procedures, records and files are
correct and up-to-date.
Ensure that all completed work packages are reviewed with local Management with the intent of improving quality and
efficiency of work and eliminating errors.
Assist in preparing reports forecasting future resource requirements, equipment overhaul results, persistent problem areas
and necessary equipment modifications or replacement.
Assist in establishing and maintaining preventative and predictive maintenance programs consistent with RCM principles.
Promote safety and occupational health and environmental responsibility. Ensure that duties performed comply with
Corporate and regulatory safety and environmental requirements. Report any incidents or situations that may be harmful to
the environment or in violation of corporate or regulatory requirements.
Develop and maintain various performance indicator reports for Eastern Generation Management.
Qualifications:
A two-year Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Technology from an institute of recognized standing plus a
minimum of four years directly related experience.
OR Grade 12 graduation and successful completion of Manitoba Hydro's Operating Technician Training Program plus a minimum
of four years directly related experience of which two years must be as a qualified Technician.
OR Grade 12 graduation and successful completion of Manitoba Hydro's Electrical / Mechanical Technician Training Program plus
a minimum of five years directly related experience of which two years must be as a qualified Technician.

Possess proven maintenance experience on all major equipment and auxiliaries.
Supervisory experience and/or MMP designation (Maintenance Management Professional) considered an asset.
Ability to organize, supervise and schedule work and provide training, leadership and direction to other staff.
Possess above average technical knowledge with a desire to further development.
Possess above average computer skills sufficient to perform the various tasks of the position (SAP-EAM, MS Word, MS
Excel, and MS Project).
Possess good judgement, decision making ability, and the ability to perform assignments with a minimum supervision.
Possess a good working knowledge of budget preparation and control, cost accounting, stores and stock control.
Creative and ability to evaluate and develop work methods and practices.
Typing ability would be a definite asset.
Familiar with and adhere to the Manitoba Hydro safety manual and other approved safety practices and procedures.
Possess a valid Manitoba Motor Vehicle Driver's Licence.
Salary Range
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $39.18-$54.24 Hourly,
$75,083.06-$103,932.92 Annually.
