About this Opportunity

Subject to intermittent layoffs during holidays and reading breaks.

Position 993045 is located in a busy coffee shop. Barista experience is required.

Must be available for daytime and weekends. Level 1 Food Safe is required.

Position 993014 is located in a busy dish room.

Must be available for evening (until 11:30pm) and weekend shifts. Reliable transportation is required as there is limited public transportation for later evening shifts. Level 1 Food Safe is required.

Please indicate which position is of interest. Both positions begin Jan 5, 2026 however training shifts will be scheduled in Dec 2025 (prior to Christmas lay off).


Job Summary
Assists in the preparation of food. Washes, cleans, and prepares vegetables and fruit for cooking and salad use. Mixes juices as assigned. Portions desserts and prepares sandwich fillings as directed. Sets and clears dining room tables, arranging them to meet user requirements. Transports food, supplies, and equipment to and from the kitchen, dining areas, storerooms, and refrigerators. Readies and refills drink dispensers and stocks condiments and food in serving areas. Operates standard kitchen appliances and equipment. Dispenses food and beverages to customers. Waits on tables when required. Cleans work areas, equipment, and fixtures. Prepares soiled dishes and cutlery for the dishwashing machine. Stacks and sorts clean dishes and cutlery. Performs laundry duties and other related work as required. Job Requirements
Good communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to working effectively within a team environment. Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain a well-organized work area. Knowledge of food safety standards, effective sanitation and housekeeping practices, and the operation of standard kitchen appliances and equipment. Ability to learn routines related to food service, including assisting in food preparation and cleanup. Serving It Right Certification by the British Columbia Liquor Control Board may be required, depending on the work assignment.
