• Assists in the preparation of food.
• Washes, cleans, and prepares vegetables, fruit for cooking and salad use.
• Mixes juices as assigned.
• Portions desserts and prepares sandwich fillings as directed.
• Sets and clears dining room tables and arranges them to meet user requirements.
• Transports food, supplies and equipment to and from kitchen, dining areas, storerooms and refrigerators.
• Readies and refills drink dispensers and stocks condiments and food in serving areas.
• Operates standard kitchen appliances and equipment.
• Dispenses food and beverages to customers.
• Waits on tables when required.
• Cleans work areas, equipment and fixtures.
• Prepares soiled dishes and cutlery for dishwashing machine.
• Stacks and sorts clean dishes and cutlery.
• Performs laundry duties and other related work as required.

Job Requirements

• Good communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to working effectively within a team environment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain a well-organized work area.
• Knowledge of food safety standards, effective sanitation and housekeeping practices, and the operation of standard kitchen appliances and equipment.
• Ability to learn routines related to food service, including assisting in food preparation and cleanup.
• Serving It Right Certification by the British Columbia Liquor Control Board may be required, depending on the work assignment.
