Job Description

Our

General Supervisor, Parts

plays a critical role in leading the Parts, Inventory, and Warehouse operations within the branch. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position is responsible for ensuring efficient parts management, strong inventory control, effective warehouse operations, and exceptional service to both internal and external customers. We are seeking a leader with strong industry experience, operational expertise, and a passion for developing teams and improving processes.


Location:

On-site at our Timmins, ON branch

Salary Range:

$110,000 - $115,000 per year, plus incentive plan

Schedule

: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day


What You'll Do




Lead and oversee all Parts, Inventory, and Warehouse operations to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective support for branch needs. Manage inventory levels, cycle counts, warehouse workflow, freight costs, and stocking strategies in partnership with Central Inventory Control. Administer RAMP and cost-per-hour agreements, warranty processes, and related communication with customers and OEMs. Prepare and manage annual budgets, track performance, and drive continuous improvement across parts operations. Maintain accurate records, pricing, reports, and reference materials to support efficient and customer-focused operations. Build quotes, contracts, and sales programs in collaboration with Sales and other internal teams. Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, promoting parts sales and ensuring high service levels. Work closely with branch leadership to set strategy, establish objectives, and plan long-term resource and inventory needs. Lead, coach, and develop the Parts and Warehouse team, ensuring proper staffing, training, performance management, and compliance. Champion safe work practices, support OHSE processes, and represent SMS Equipment at relevant industry events.

What You Bring





The successful applicant will have

5-7 years of experience in parts, warehouse, or inventory-focused role

, including

prior supervisory experience.

A background as a Parts Technician or similar hands-on parts/warehouse role is considered an asset.



Other key qualifications include:


Strong knowledge of parts distribution, inventory systems, warehouse operations, and logistics. Experience improving operational processes, including cycle counts, stock strategies, and quality programs. Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop technical and warehouse teams. Excellent planning and organizational abilities, with strong time-management and prioritization skills. Good understanding of financial statements, managing expenses, budgeting, and preparing reports, projections, and cost estimates. Effective communicator with strong relationship-building skills and proficiency in parts systems, software, and safety compliance.
