As a General Superintendent, you will be responsible to coordinate and supervise field operations, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, quality and safety protocols across multiple projects. Manages subcontractors and interfaces with project management to resolve issues and maintain project progress. This includes managing subcontracts/suppliers, equipment, interfacing with external stakeholders or client and field staff to plan, execute, and problem solve.
Responsibilities
Audit daily FLRAs, weekly Toolbox Talks, and weekly site inspections.
Assists in development of project/planning scheduling with project management team.
Influences the safety culture by leading by example as a mentor and model.
Supports the project health and safety plan.
Demonstrates conflict resolution skills, problem solving abilities and professional judgment.
Ability to monitor and manage a construction schedule.
Complete Safety Observations and Engagement forms.
Complete and engage others in site inspections.
Ensure all Supervisors complete Job Site Logs.
Assist with incident/accident investigations.
Participate in weekly site inspections for projects.
Ensure all high-risk work activities have reviewed and signed off on safe work plans.
Review and implement action items from JOSH Committee meeting minutes.
Visit job sites and oversee production/productivity.
Implement techniques and strategies that are both efficient and cost-effective.
Plan phases/sequences with Project Management and the Operations Manager to make the project most profitable.
Develop action items and critical paths during sequencing.
Ensure supervisors' tool cribs are neat and organized.
Ensure tool cribs do not have long-sitting tagged-out gear or rentals.
Organize rentals or bins for job sites (or advise Supervisors).
Ensure gear lists are pre-planned for upcoming phases and not daily.
Provide hands-on training for tools that some employees may need tutorials on.
Maintain a daily log of site operations and identify any gaps or areas that need addressing.
Other duties as assigned.
Profile Requirements
7-10 years' experience in the construction industry in a supervisor role or equivalent;
Experience within the hazardous material industry considered an asset;
Demonstrated knowledge and application of safety principles, procedures, and legislation;
Ability to problem solve and exercise professional judgment;
Demonstrated experience in leading effective project meetings with customers, consultants, and internal employees;
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal;
Excellent organizational and time management skills;

Physical Requirements
Dynamic Work Setting:
Offers a mix of field and office environments; involves approximately 80% field work and 20% office work.
Physical Capability
: Must be physically capable of navigating job sites. Also, must be fit and able to wear respiratory protection equipment, including various types of full and half face respirators.
Driver's License:
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Security Clearance:
Must be eligible to obtain Secret Level Security Clearance.
Hazardous Materials:
Required to enter and examine active abatement areas containing Asbestos, Lead, Silica, Mold, etc.
