POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Superintendent to lead and support our field supervision team on commercial construction projects. This role is responsible for overseeing multiple site supervisors, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. As a key leader in our operations team, you will play a crucial role in mentoring site staff, maintaining field consistency, and ensuring company standards are met across all job sites.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
Provide direct supervision, coaching, and performance management to Site Supervisors across multiple commercial projects.
Conduct regular site visits to ensure work is progressing according to plan, and address any issues proactively.
Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Safety Managers, and senior leadership to align field operations with project schedules and budgets.
Review and enforce health and safety protocols; lead by example in promoting a safety-first culture.
Standardize site procedures and ensure consistent application of company policies across all job sites.
Support Site Supervisors in subcontractor coordination, site logistics planning, and problem resolution.
Assist in training field personnel.
Scheduling and coordination of Supervisor assignments for upcoming projects, vacation coverage and site labor requirements in conjunction with Project Managers and VP Commercial
Monitor site productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards.
Act as a senior point of contact for critical on-site decisions and client interface as needed.
Participate in project planning meetings and contribute to constructability reviews and scheduling strategies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in commercial construction, with at least 5 years in a site supervisory or leadership role.
Proven track record managing multiple job sites or teams in a general contracting environment.
Strong understanding of construction practices, scheduling, safety regulations, and quality standards.
Effective leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to mentor and develop site-level talent.
Proficient with construction management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam).
Red Seal certification or equivalent carpentry trade background is considered an asset.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to multiple job sites in Western Canada.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Office-based role, Monday to Friday (40 hours/week) with site visits as required to complete your duties.
Occasional overtime may be required during month-end or peak project periods
