General Pediatric Medicine Pediatrician

The Department of Pediatrics at Dalhousie University and the IWK Health Centre located in the wonderful harbour city of Halifax, Nova Scotia, is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) physician at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level. The successful candidate will fill a targeted role in providing inpatient care on the Pediatric Medical Unit and ambulatory care services. There is some flexibility in constructing the service distribution model depending on the candidate. The candidate will add to a dynamic and academically productive group of academic general pediatricians.

Demonstrated interest in clinical research relevant to pediatric medicine is an asset. Meaningful training/experience relevant to inpatient medicine, complex care and / or child protection would be desirable to round out the strengths of our division.

Teaching opportunities abound within Dalhousie University, the IWK Health Centre, and more broadly throughout the urban and rural communities where care is collaboratively shared. Experience in medical education is an asset. The IWK Health Centre is a tertiary care pediatric, women\'s and maternal care hospital and serves as the pediatric referral center for the Maritime Provinces.

Academic qualifications include a MD degree (or equivalent) from an accredited university with completed recognized specialty training and certification in Pediatrics. Eligibility for medical licensure in the Province of Nova Scotia is essential. Compensation and academic appointment are commensurate with experience and qualifications.
