What You Will Do




Det'on Cho Bouwa Whee Catering LP is seeking to hire a

General Manager

to oversee the day-to-day operations with key focus on driving revenue, reducing employee turnover, submitting accurate/timely reports to clients and promoting high quality customer satisfaction.



The position collaborates with the Appointed Det'on Cho Senior Managers, the Recruiter / HR Administrator, and the Det'on Cho Management Team at large to achieve the goals of the company.

A Day In The Life



Oversees Camp Operations and Inspecting all workplaces Oversees and manages Camp Managers on site, including managing their performance, tasks and overall accountability management. Oversees all inventory and interacts with managing the inventory and the keeping of financials pertaining to purchases and sales Works with Camp Managers to ensure that all materials used in food preparation are in good working order. Participates in all Recruitment and onboarding for the company, including identifying workforce needs, job descriptions, job duties, qualifications and skills. Participates in all areas of training, developmental strategies, hiring, onboarding, retention, employee relations and employees off boarding. Manage a Health and Safety Management System. Ensure worker injury reporting is completed timely as per WSCC requirements Ensure all employee records are up to date and submitted to Human Resources Establish and implement departmental policies, objectives and procedures with approval from the appointed Det'on Cho Senior Manager Acts as the primary contact for the contract manager at each client site. Maintains a detailed understanding of each Site's scope of work, client needs, contractual obligations and requirements for success. Adheres to Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)and other data to measure productivity and goal achievement. Travel to site as required (Monday - Thursday each week) Manages daily operations and organizes the use of materials and employee resources. Assists the appointed Det'on Cho Senior Management with various projects and performs other duties as assigned.

What You Bring



A minimum of five (5) years' experience managing people, hospitality and camp services contracts, client relations, including management at remote camp locations. Equivalencies will be considered.
Extensive experience and knowledge of all aspects of human resource planning and management Excellent understanding of human resources functions including recruitment, training and development, compensation, personnel administration and employee relations Knowledge of contemporary HR development theory and methods and ability to provide advice and interpretations to camp managers, office managers and staff within the organization Thorough knowledge of all relevant federal, territorial and local requirements regarding human resource administration and human rights and employment standards legislation Professional, positive and constructive behaviors are expected of the employee in this position when dealing with co-workers, clients, and all associates Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a team Proven abilities in informal employee counseling and conflict resolution High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability Familiarity with Yellowknives Dene language, culture and way of life would be considered an asset
