IAPO, formed in 1984, is an Aboriginal Capital Corporation providing farm and business financing, as well as, agriculture extension advisory services to First Nations communities and their members in Ontario. IAPO?s financing, programs and services support the creation and expansion of First Nations farms and businesses facilitating First Nations ?economic development and prosperity.?IAPO is seeking a multi-skilled General Manager to lead a small team and assist the Board of Directors in the effective planning, coordination and implementation of business operations. ?The General Manager is responsible for the day to day operations of IAPO including financial management. This position requires a dynamic individual who will effectively lead the organization in pursuit of its mission.??Key Areas of ResponsibilityManage IAPO?s loan portfolio overseeing business development, marketing, delivery, and administration.Provide credit analysis and support to IAPO?s Business Advisors in assessing and supporting business proposals and financing applications.Manage and assist in the delivery of agricultural extension services.Develop and foster positive and effective relationships with members, stakeholder, and funders.Represent the IAPO at regional, territorial and national levels, as well as other public forums.Provide communications and support to the Board of Directors.Organize and arrange Board meetings.?The Ideal Candidate Will Possess the Following Qualifications:A broad understanding of the agricultural industry.Demonstrated equivalent and relevant experience in business management.Not-for-profit experience including sourcing potential funding, grant writing and reporting.Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, marketing, financial management and human resources.Familiarity with community economic development concepts and practices.Strong relationship management skills.Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.Effective organizational and planning skills.?Education & ExperienceKnowledgeable of First Nations culture and communities.Experience working with First Nations communities and members.A minimum of five years of successful management or leadership experience.University degree in agriculture and/or business.Experience working in the areas of farm advisory and/or agricultural lending.?Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
