Job Description


General Manager The North Rustico Lions Club is currently searching for a General Manager to take on the essential role of overseeing our organization\'s operations and management. This position is responsible for the day-to-day administration of our facilities and management of our staff, ensuring the organization\'s smooth operation and success. The North Rustico Lions Club is a non-profit organization in the community of North Rustico, Prince Edward Island. We have been in operation since 1966. We run a full- service entertainment center, including a bar and bowling alley. We offer trivia nights and weekend entertainment. We have a 265-person capacity hall for rental for sizeable functions such as weddings and banquets. Location: North Rustico Lions Club, North Rustico, PE, Canada (Onsite) Reports To: Board of Directors Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Club Operations Management

  • Monitor the day-to-day operations of the bar, including but not limited to inventory control and ordering.
  • Balance Video Lottery Terminals (VLT\'s), pull tickets, treasure chest, etc..
  • Manage Lions Club finances, including budgeting, bookkeeping, and making bank deposits.
  • Create regular financial reports using Simply Accounting.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and provincial regulations, including Workers\xe2\x80\x99 Compensation and payroll remittances with the Canada Revenue Agency.
  • Liaison with public health, the fire marshal, and the PEI Liquor Control Commission for special functions.
  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of club facilities and equipment
Member and Community Engagement
  • Foster a strong sense of community within the club and with the broader community.
  • Resolve customer concerns or complaints.
  • Plan and execute events, programs, and activities to engage members and the public.
Human Resources and Volunteer Management
  • Recruit, train, and supervise staff and volunteers.
  • Promote a positive work environment and encourage teamwork and collaboration.
Marketing and Promotion
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote club activities and increase membership.
  • Maintain the club\'s website and social media presence.
Facility Rentals and Event Coordination
  • Coordinate bookings for events, meetings, and rentals of club facilities.
  • Ensure the successful execution of events and oversee Lions Club event staff.
Board of Directors Support
  • Provide regular reports to the Board of Directors on the club\'s operations and financial status.
  • Collaborate with the Board to develop and execute plans.
Working Conditions
  • This role may require occasional lifting, bending, as well as standing for extended periods of time.
  • Handle various responsibilities simultaneously and make informed decisions.
Hours of Work
37.5-hour/week
Hours may vary depending on the club\'s event schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends as needed. Compensation
Full-time Permanent
$49,000 - $55,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience Qualifications
  • Completion of a college or other program related to hospitality or food and beverage services management or equivalency in experience and continuing education.
  • Financial management experience, including budgeting, bookkeeping, and financial reporting using Simply Accounting software.
  • Supervisory or management experience, preferably in the food and service industry.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
  • Responsible Beverage Service certification is considered an asset.
  • First Aid training is considered an asset.
  • Effective communication, leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, interpersonal skills, organizational skills, adaptability, and proficiency with office computer software programs.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada (must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent or temporary resident of Canada, or have a valid Canadian work permit).
